Welcome to my blog. I’m Kamilla and here is a little background story about me and why I started The Snack Society and this blog.
I am and have always been a lover of all kinds of delicious food. For the most of my adult life, I suffered with all sorts of digestive problems including bloating, heartburn and stomach cramps. I tried all kinds of medications from conventional to alternative medicine to Ayurveda, but to no avail.
In May 2015, I was diagnosed with a long list of foods I am intolerant to, including wheat, dairy and sugary foods.
It was, without a doubt, very challenging thing to bring about a complete change in my diet. This meant staying away from fudgy brownies, creamy birthday cakes and crispy biscuits. Removing these things from my diet proved to be even harder after I made a visit to the local supermarket and strolled through their “Gluten Free, Dairy Free and Organic” aisle, only to find that products were full of refined sugar, artificial preservatives and additives.
I started experimenting with different ingredients and making my own meals and snack recipes. I continued to be amazed that for every naughty food craving, there is a natural, good-for-you answer.
I would share my snacks with my colleagues and friends and they would absolutely love it. It was March 2016, when I decided to leave the 8-5 corporate world behind me and start The Snack Society. It has been bumpy and challenging, but ultimately a happy road to making healthy foods fun and incredibly delicious.
After the traction that my social media pages were getting, I decided to create a blog element on my website. I want to use this space as a platform to share my delicious recipes with like-minded people from all over the world.
I also want to use my blog as a tool to create a community of people who share the same passion for health, delicious food and fitness.
